So here's a bit of many characters, fandoms, and working on the formats ;)

1) Five Vampires Dr. Horrible Never Met by snowpuppies. Dr. Horrible has a plan to become more evil. Unfortunately, he needs the help of a vampire.

2) Foreign Spices May Disagree With You by AnonEhouse. Saffron's good at conning but some people have been running a way longer game.

3) Nine Rules for Living in a Broken World by Wisdom Eagle. Various crossovers set in the Dark Angel universe, though my favorite of these is II. Dance with your head held high with Original Cindy and Gunn.

4) I Hate You by double_dutchess. Sometimes it isn't a thin line, it's just hate between vampires.

5) The Director Will See You Now by toucanpie. What if SHIELD were responsible for more than just chasing down and sorting out the unexplainable? What if the fate of the world rested in their hands? (The Cabin in the Woods fusion).

1. Synth by astridv and yhlee - All – In a year when comics were all the news for the Buffyverse, another wonderful fan comic was turned out, this one a Fray crossover. Hopefully it will help bring a little attention to one of the least known parts of the Buffyverse.

1. Favorite Vid
Jesus Walks by mimesere – All – I haven’t seen many Gunn vids around but I have to admit, after seeing this one I have a hard time imagining someone’s done it better. Just gripping. I think it brings out the separateness and struggle of this character’s arc really well.

My problem is that out of my fic-reading-time-pie the biggest slices are S/X, which leaves a lot smaller slices for everything else. Personally I’d like to solve this by having a bigger pie but RL isn’t very cooperative in this respect. So I ended up having one big slash category because I probably don’t have enough items for the various individual characters. But each one of these fascinated me in some way and just had to be recced.

(1) Bent Justice by toobusytowrite - NC-17 – This was that rarest of birds – a slashfest with plot. This story has a variety of threads that are wound about each other until the last 4 chapters or so. It’s a long fic compared to most and I was very impressed that the author could keep it interesting for that length of time. It’s Spangel but there are a whole host of characters who make an appearance in this human AU, and it was downright fun for me to see them appearing one by one in this universe. I’m glad I came across it as a WIP because taking on a long story can be a hard thing to squeeze into a busy schedule. But as soon as I read it, I was eagerly awaiting the updates to this as they spilled out.

(1)It’s Good to Be the King - by darkwaif - Teen – I am a sucker for Arthurian material, so these various images of Spike in knightly garb were a nice treat.

(2) American Psycho by copykween - All – This movie poster manip just struck me as a great combination of subject and character, and my God, I love seeing Spike in a suit even if he is wielding a knife while wearing it.
