Night Off by shapinglight - R – The moment I finished reading this I knew it was going on one of my lists. Wonderful description and atmosphere, and the sort of Spike and Dru you warn your kiddies about. Appropriately written at Halloween.

Thank you for these recs. I missed so much when I was off-line that end-of-year fic round-ups and buffyversetop5 have become my lifelines. Had to go read the Spike and Dru immediately, because who doesn't love Spike and Dru at Hallowe'en?

I had some weeks away this year but even being around there was no way I could keep up with a lot of what was getting posted. It comes in pretty handy for me too!

And yes it was a perfect Halloween fic!

Yes, I liked the way it was really just a snippet, a moment of viewing them, yet it had a lot of vibrancy to it.

She wrote a longer story also set during the NFA battle. Did you read it? It was wonderful! I wish I'd remembered before because I would've recced it here.

I'm at work so I can't look for the link now but I will try and find it when I get home - that is, if you haven't read the story already.

Thanks for this list - lyrstzha's snippet was a wonderful read. The three chapters of her longer piece aren't flocked - she pulled it as a crossover, so maybe the link just doesn't work. I read it this morning and can't wait for more. "Stick Shift" was wonderful, too. Now I have to read the rest.
