Thaw by Dazzle
One of my favourite C/A fics ever, where Amnesia!Cordy makes a wish to bring back her memories, creating an entirely new reality in the process. Can Cordy bring back the world she once knew? Left of center pairings and spot on characterizations of every character present. Everyone should read this, not just C/A fans. Seriously amazing fic.

These are some of the Spangel stories that I can't gelp reading over and over again

1. Dark Skies by Jenny - Story summary that she gives: William meets a stranger at one of his mother's card parties. The echoes of that meeting haunt him, until insane, alone in the basement of Sunnydale High School, Spike has to find the strength to face the author of his nightmares.

I don't know why, but this story made the best sense to me as to why Spike would hate Angel for so long

Angel never believed that he would ever possess Spike, but one day, after an accident while fighting some demons, Spike loses his memory. Will Angel tell the truth to Spike? Or will he lie?

I just LOVE this story!!

5. Lost and Found by Pet and Foxhunt2blue Story summary they give: Twenty-five years after the final battle against the senior partners Spike finds something he thought he'd lost

Again, this story just sucked me in right from the get go!!

Every fan has his/her own idea on how Buffy and Spike have met after he has been resurrected, and the stories about their reunions are written again and again. Fluffy, angsty, with different plot twists like amnesia, prophecies, videoblog reports, reincarnations and other genre archetypes.

NC-17, post-NFA. Buffy discovers amnesiac and crazy Spike in a slayer Council facility in Los-Angeles. Although he may be dangerous, she brings him into her new slayer headquarters. Note to Xander and Giles' fans: in the beginning these characters are very harsh and distrustful toward Spike, but their attitude gradually changes.

I am in awe of writers who can keep it up over the long haul. I bow to those who can do so, and make it interesting and in character, with pacing and dynamism, and who manage to throw in something unforgettable. So, before I forget:

Forget and Smile by

missmurchison R, at the end
After the NFA-battle, Spike shanshues, but loses all memory of being a vampire and of his former friends and allies. They don’t forget him, however, and Willow whisks him off to teach at her new School for Slayers in Iowa, where he fascinates and terrifies the students. When Buffy drops in for a visit, what will it take to keep her from playing the martyr and walking away? Could it be… a llama? Sweet, funny, exciting and sexy.

We’re talking beautiful angst , heart moving emotions, sometimes teary eyes but..
But.. can you guess ? The ending will leave you satisfied. :)
My list goes from the less angsty to the most aching roller-coaster.

Each of these fics will forever be standouts for me for their style, plot creativity, and impact. Athough the pairings differ, they each pack a powerful, angsty, emotional punch that will leave you breathless, hopeful, and anxious. In no particular order...

1. Of Infinite Space by

Rating: R
Setting: Post-NFA ignoring comics canon
Pairing: Angel/Buffy/Spike/Faith and every permutation thereof
Summary: In the chaos and uncertainty following NFA, both vampires and Slayers must break free of past hurts and habits if they ever hope to make a future for themselves... with or without each other.

Comments: When I first read this story I was enchanted by the style of the prose and the clever use of past, present and future parallels that

redbrickrose was able to draw between the A/B/S/F dynamic and that of the Fanged Four. A beautiful, thoughtful read that believably explores the relationships and roadblocks that exist between the shows forefront heroes.

This may need a few words of explanation. I have to admit that sometimes the various fics I've read blur together for me and it's hard to remember who wrote which stories and how the plot went. But I often remember great lines (especially the funny ones). So I started doing a "Fic Quotes" thing on my LJ only the quotes started getting longer. So now I'm calling them Moments in Fic. ( Here are some from 2005 )
