These are my top 5 favorite ways that Angel could resolve his relationship issues post-NFA

   Pairings: Angel/Spike and also featuring permutations of Angel/Spike/Wesley/Gunn/Illyria/Dru/Ms. Edith
   Rating: NC-17
   Status: WIP (but it’s already 80+ chapters and it's been flowing pretty steadily throughout the year, including recent updates)
   Warnings: Slash, bondage, domination
   Probably my favorite fic of the last two years (yeah, it was started in 2005, but it’s been going strong all year, so it still deserves to be on this list). After the master’s death, the requisite time period has passed and a new leader of Aurelius must be chosen. Of course, Angel and his ‘house’ have a few unorthodox plans of their own –that is- if they can make it through the selection process and beyond.
   
   
2. Homecoming by xenodike
   Pairings: SpAngel
   Rating: NC-17
   Status: Complete
   Warnings: Slash
   In my head, this is how it all goes down, post-NFA, between the boys despite what the scoobies and the fang-gang have to say about it.
   
   
3. Vampire Winter And it’s coda, Belonging by shapinglight
   Pairings: Angel/Buffy/Spike
   Rating: NC-17
   Status: COMPLETE
   Warnings: implied Slash
   An very atmospheric fic that sees the boys dealing with their most complex ‘loose end’ before continuing to ‘fight the good fight’ that they picked in NFA.
   
   
4. Saying Goodbye, A fallen Angel-verse fic by phantisma
   Pairings: Angel/Wesley
   Rating: R
   Status: COMPLETE
   Warnings: Slash, character death
   This is actually, the epilogue to a longer fic (Fallen Angel). That being said, this story has a bittersweet sense of finality and rightness that stayed with me for months after the first reading.
   
   
5. Untitled Trilogy by femmenerd including:
   The Non-Mutual Exclusivity of Perversion and Love, Together Again for the First Time & Timeless
   Pairings: Angel/Buffy/Spike
   Rating: NC-17
   Status: COMPLETE

   Usually, I’m not a fan of any fic where Spuffy is the main paring, but, in this trilogy, Spike is uncharacteristically generous and decides to share, so it’s all good with me!

Angel and Xander end up in this place and as ever, Buffy is between them. I would have left this on the top 5 list, but since it’s already gotten 2 Top 5 mentions, I decided to let others have a chance.
