What I really love about this story is how much we learn about Darla and Spike's characters as a result of the narrative - it really gives an insight into who they were in the past, who they are at this point in time and what makes them tick. Add in pitch-perfect voices and beautiful evocative detail and you've got a classic to wallow in.
