We had some excellent long fics in 2012, because our fandom is full of talented people. Many of those fics have been mentioned on other lists. Here are some for which I am (patiently) awaiting updates.

Safeverse by shapinglight (Spike/Giles with plot) NC17
A Season 7 Giles juggles a chipped/souled/triggered Spike, a secretive and hostile Council, and the Potential Slayers who depend on him. It’s even harder when The First keeps popping up wearing the face of his allies. 8 chapters posted.

While killing time in Rome, Buffy runs into a new Slayer with a shocking secret. Now, she's going to have to face her past to keep both herself and those around her from a Fate Worse Than Death... Hollywood. 2 chapters posted.

Breathe the Fire Right Into Me by st_salieri (alpha/omega AU, Buffy/Dean Winchester) PG13
Buffy struggles with more than just her Slayerness in college. There might be support groups. One chapter posted.

Buffy is hell on the old skins in this look at a possible post-Becoming adventure. One long chapter posted.

Somewhere on a Desert Highway by goodforthesoul (Buffy/Spike) PG13
Buffy has been on the run for 13 years post-Becoming when a souled vampire wanders into her diner. 4 chapters posted.

LOL, I plan on making the last post on Jan 31st. So I won't be on the WIP list much longer. And of course I want to see how yours turns out!

I would love to see how the permanent WIP 'Brave New World' by JamesMFan would have turned out, but at least that ends in a good place. And it's been two years, so I guess it doesn't belong on this list...

And yes, there will be more of it soon - I have the third chapter all but finished, I just need to get the last one outlined before I post it so I can be sure I don't leave anything important out - I hate it when you have to go "Oh, right, and there was a dragon in the room with them, I should probably have mentioned that in the last chapter." Not that I'm saying there's a dragon. Or that there isn't one.
