Top 5 Pre-Series Fics

buffyversetop5This is a list of my five favourite classic fics set pre-series. In no particular order because they're all wonderful.

peasant_. This is a grand rollicking adventure-packed story describing William's turning and early education as a vampire. It's NC17 and the main pairing is Angelus/William
Queen's Gambit bysangpassionne. Another Victorian period piece with a very different take on the Fanged Four and the Angelus/William relationship. Again, it's NC17
Manhattan Nocturne byherself_nyc. Set in New York in the 1920s, starring Spike, this is a wonderful evocation of time and place. There are both slash and het pairings in this fic along with a great deal of vampire nastiness. Naturally, it's NC17
And Darkness Comes by Kismet. Not purely an historical fic but I love this dearly for the comparisons it makes between now and then and especially for the depiction of Darla. NC17 again with Angel/Spike slash. The rest of Kismet's fics can be found here and it might be as well to grab them since the site hasn't been updated for three years.
Dancing in the Dark bytwilightofmagic. Giles and Ethan, young and wild, with motorbikes and magic thrown in. Irresistible. NC17. this last story is actually dated 2006 but I will definitely be reccing it on the com again in December so I hope it's okay to put it here?
