5 new works by new people

I think what keeps me interested in the Buffyverse is discovering fresh talent that delights me.

So here are my pics of some of the best new things I've seen this year.


1. btvslover82 is probably on more than my horizon as one of the most interesting new writers to come along. She writes a little of everything. My favorite work by her this year is a very pornfilled fun adventure of an underage Xander's discovery of sex--with Spike as his sexy tutor. Festivalverse. *finished work

2. daedream_fanbot popped out of Zeus' head all ready to rock. There was none of the awkward find your feet new writer in her prose. Her first story I'll rec is also on my favorite list of spander for 2006. Backfire which has a bit of hot, hot S/A/X. Xander is claimed in a unique way by both vampires and must have sex with them and be bitten once a day to keep breathing. This is not only steamy, but a wonderfully original twist on the whole claiming idea. *finished work

3. daedream_fanbot's new story which is as yet unfinished is a post NFA adventure set in prison. Felon Fodder. If you loved the classic Bent Justice, this story gives you that...with spander! One of the most gripping WIPs I'm following at the moment. *currently a WIP

4. tamakin84 is the most promising new manipper I've seen show up this year. Her work is really powerful and flawless--on the level of sueworld2003 and darkwaif. This work was for a 'water' challenge on dirty_fic and she somehow managed to make these half faces clearly resemble Spike and Xander: Affusion. She's an impressive talent and I look forward to more from her in 2007. *worksafe

5. c_woodhaven's The Lady and the Tiger caught my attention right from the beginning. An interesting parallel story of searing angst and off the scale kink where a futuristic vampire Spike takes two slaves, one Tara, the other Xander. We follow their journey in becoming Spike's pet in separate branch story lines. Very unique premise. *currently a WIP

Yes! Isn't it exciting to see such wonderful new work? I wish I could have linked to her latest piece but it really best belongs in an adult community perhaps. *smooch*

A wonderful category. Newcomers are definitely the lifeblood of a fandom and it's great to have their work found and shared.

It is heartening, isn't it? As much as I love the work of old friends, it's nice to be surprised and meet someone new.

I'm actually going to attempt an Angel/Willow or spillow list, can you believe. You are to blame for introducing me to that. I actually have a lot of lists I'd love to do. I hope I can keep it up!
