Here are my non-spikeylover 5 favorite Buffyverse vids for 2006.



5. Bawitaba by Whoisnorml? (Buffy and Ensemble). This is a kick-ass action vid featuring Buffy and her friends and nemises.


4. Lame/Soul Having (Click on Buffy Character Vids and scroll down) by Holly Gilmore. Spike has a soul? How lame is that? Very funny vid about Spike's trials and tribulations with his soul.


3. Goodbye My Lover (Spike/Buffy) by Azkabella. Gorgeous, poignant Spuffy vid that made me tear up - but in a good way.


2. Struggle (Angel/Lindsey) by Luminosity. Wonderful Angel/Lindsey vid, and also a character study about Lindsey's struggle to reclaim his life after losing so much. I love this vid.


1. Coin Operated Boy (Buffy/Riley, Buffy/Angel, Buffy/Spike) by SD Wolfpup. This is possibly my favorite vid of the year (and I watch a lot of them!) Absolutely perfect vid mix of visuals and music. Buffy wants a controllable, plastic boy-toy that won't cause her pain and suffering. She thinks she's found that in Riley, but she can't get Angel out of her mind. And then there is Spike. Highly recommended.

I just think that vid is amazing. And lots of others that I couldn't fit into the "List of 5", but that may be appearing in future posts. I've seen Coin-Operated Boy and while I found it funny and there was nothing in it that I could really find displeasing, it also saddened me as well because Riley was so much more than that.

He was, but not with Buffy, I think. Riley was still very much rebound-guy for Buffy. I think she tried to love him; she wanted to love him, but she was still too emotionally attached to Angel for that to happen, and I think the vid brings that out. I like Riley - I just don't like what happened to him when he was with Buffy. I think he had a lot to give, but she wasn't ready to really commit.

Yes, I have Struggle downloaded, as well as the Putting Out Fire one. I actually have several Lindsey/Angel vids but I cn't rec them because I can't recall where I got them from.

There's also an ensemble Btvs piece set to Bette Midler's The Rose that's gorgeous and quite heart-rending.

Yep. That happened to me, too, whenI was doing my this year's recs. I collected them throughout the year, but was then off-line for six months due to problems with my Internet provider, and when it came time to do my vid recs, some of the sites were no longer there, some of the vids had been retired, and some had no name either on the vid or the doc. title and I couldn't remember who made it. Vids seem more ethereal than fics - I just finished checking all the sources for the vids I recced on my site, and now several of them have already moved - in only three weeks! *sigh*

You're very welcome. I love vids (except I'm too much of a Luddite to figure out how to make them, so I just enjoy others' work.) COB is a classic, isn't it?
