buffyversetop5I'm very happy to list my Top 5 Wesley/Lilah fics, two characters that mean a lot to me, so when they're written, with passion or in an intriguing way, for which all of these fics qualify, I sigh very happily...
Item Title or Description: Belly of the Beast

Why I chose this: A very dark but frankly quite sexy Wesley, a manipulative though solicitous Lilah, some humourous Harmony moments, quotes from King Lear and Wesley running W&H and seeking 'council' from Lilah. All my imaginations of Wesley post-NFA rolled into one delicious to read fic.

Why I chose this: This fic grabs your attention on first reading because of the style - 10 drabbles all based around Chess pieces. Which, in itself, is a wow moment. But, once you delve inside, the story is also wonderfully written, in an ephemeral style that has Wesley always trying to reach out for something (or more specifically someone).

Why I chose this: Wesley contemplates the body of Lilah at the bottom of the Hyperion Hotel. And slowly my heart breaks for them in this tightly written and very moving piece.

Why I chose this: A wonderful study of Wesley in the moments between Season 3 and 4, his potential for light and dark. I don't think, as well, that I've read a fic (well, at least recently) where Lilah and Justine are compared and contrasted so very well.

Why I chose this: A really intriguing style of writing that has informed a lot of stuff I've since written. The Lilah voice is superb and evokes very much the idea of Lilah being hard on the outside, and yet possessing a small potential for vulnerability too. And doesn't Wes have an eye for it?
