I've got a fanart post coming up tomorrow as well 😃 What I recall though is that there weren't that many non-manips made during the first decade of Buffyverse fandom. Maybe it was just the difficulty of sharing images that reduced that. We had lots of banners, wallpapers, icons and general manips, but very little drawing or painting.

Now it seems the opposite. I hardly ever see banners or wallpapers (and most sites don't use icons like the LJ clones do). But I see few photo manips either but lots of drawings and paintings. And I've been following big fandoms so it's not like these are small groups that simply lack anyone who might do them.
