I am an absolute sucker for William/Buffy stories and this story is one of the best I've ever come across. I cannot praise it highly enough. It's incredibly well written, has a gripping plot and a spot-on voicing for the characters. Even more than that – the part that takes place in Victorian England is so very accurate and realistic described. For all die-hard Spuffies – yes, it also has Spike in it!

Autumns's Advancing by Cosmic Tuesday

thenewbuzzwuzz dedicated an entire post in this year's Buffyversetop5 to rec fics in which Buffy ages. It is a wonderful and important theme and I want to rec another fic which happens to not be on the already existing list. This story is about one day in the domestic live of (old) Buffy and Spike and it is beautifully written.

This story does not only feature a very unusual Big Bad for a Spuffy fic – I don't remember having come across a story with The Mayor in it before - it also has an excellent voicing for the Richard Wilkins III.

This fic is set in a future, about one hundred years after the Hellmouth collapsed. The narrator lives in New-Sunnydale and one day a couple moves into the house next door. I can't really say much more because it would give too much away but this is a very wonderful tale about the domestic life of Buffy and Spike post Chosen.

Yep yep, I recced the sequel to Autumn's Advancing. Maybe the tone of "Stranger, Take My Helping Hand" is more to my personal taste, but Autumn's Advancing is good too! I'm glad it got a shoutout. ^^
