Five Spuffy Stories with human Spike. Some of these are AH and some are with Buffy as the slayer but all have a human Spike. (Some of these stories might be on sites where you have to be a member to access the story.)

1. He Came With the House by Cryptwarmer. All human.
When Buffy rents the house of her favorite celebrity to share a weekend getaway with her sister, she's surprised to find the previous tenant hasn't completely vacated it. Spike turning over a new leaf has sworn off cigarettes and young women but a chance encounter with a determined miracle seeker reminds him that happiness is about more than cutting unhealthy things out of your life; it's about having the bravery to let good things in.

2. One Glorious Summer by Dawnofme - Buffy is a slayer and Spike, who has Shanshuied, is human.
Two years after NFA, Buffy sees Spike on TV.  Thought to be dead, he’s anything but - except he has no memories of who or what he once was.

3. Second String by Solstice. Drabble series where Buffy is the Slayer and Spike is her human Watcher.
He has lost two Slayers. She's just lost her Watcher. Now they're stuck with each other and neither is particularly happy about it.

4. The Rescue of Mr. Gordo by Mrs Muir. All human
Buffy’s father skips town after the IRS seizes everything, leaving Buffy, her mother and Dawn destitute. Her only remaining friend, Spike, helps her on a daring rescue of Mr. Gordo and Mr. Lido from their former home and helps Buffy to reveal the secrets of her heart.

5. Goodnight Saigon by Spikeslovebite. All human.
A disillusioned soldier, determined to end it all in the killing fields of Vietnam. A heartbroken young woman, devastated by the loss of her dreams. One rainy night in LA, fate brings them together

When you're a member yourself it can be easily missed. At this point finding works at all can be a challenge so any place that they're available are fine, though obviously something openly available is preferable.

But Petzi is right about including a reference that access is restricted in the rec. Works on AO3, DW and LJ might all be access restricted and require either an account or a request for access so it's a good idea to mention that both for current and future reference (since something currently accessible might get locked down the road).

I can rec things that are entirely locked to members of a site?! I did not know this.

It used to be a policy that all material had to be openly available but the last few years of account deletions and photo hosting sites changing policies have led to even more broken links than usual. Especially for classic content a single locked option might be all that's left.

We'd certainly prefer something that's openly available since people, for various reasons, usually prefer not to have to keep creating new accounts to read or see material. But if one or two items in a list end up being locked and there's no alternative do rec them anyway.

Just, as mentioned, warn readers that they'll need to take extra steps to see them since it isn't always obvious that an item is locked and not missing.

These are all stories I have enjoyed over the years. Some of them are newer (within the last 5 years). Some are rather old, like "The Rescue of Mr. Gordo" and "Goodnight Saigon."

Thanks for the recs! I've seen a few of these, but some were totally new to me. Very intrigued by the premises of 2 and 5.
