The podcast The Sunnydale Fanfic Club is one of my favorite things that have been happening in Buffy fandom lately. I love how interactive and community-oriented it is, and I love getting writing advice and story trivia from some of my favorite authors, hearing about the experiences of other fans, and discovering bits of fandom history. This list is going to be highly subjective, so if interviews with Buffyverse fanfic authors sound fun, I recommend browsing their annotated episode list on libsyn to see for yourself which episodes might interest you. Below are some of the ones I enjoyed most. Assume all episodes are NSFW by default.

An interview with Beer Good about the multi-crossover fic ''Shelf Life''
by The Sunnydale Fanfic Club
Among topics covered: fandom history, crossovers, oneshots vs. epics, fandom sites/platforms, Crime and Punishment, parodies, what Giles and Willow read, flaws and mistakes in fic, and comments.

An interview with Trepkos about the Spike/Riley fic ''Moonstruck''
by The Sunnydale Fanfic Club
This conversation touched on the ethics and history of science, fandom history, gender, the nature of evil, Riley Finn, writing character POVs and voices, slash, and research.

An interview with Sigyn about the Spuffy fic ''Pet''
by The Sunnydale Fanfic Club
I admire Sigyn's work, and I found her insights valuable and fascinating. Some of the topics: empathy, pacing, character POVs, publishing original fiction vs. fanfic. Warning: strongly anti-Bangel between 8:00-9:00.

An interview with sandy_s about the Spuffy fic ''Small Boat''
by The Sunnydale Fanfic Club
Sandy talked about things like the depiction of infertility in mainstream media, fandom history, and how to get writing done. I found her creative process regarding research/original characters particularly interesting.

An interview with Sunalso and Gort about the Spuffy fic ''Strange Partners''
by The Sunnydale Fanfic Club
This fun, extremely NSFW episode touched on writing skills like outlining, finding a suitable beta, character voices, and the use of body language.

Ooh, great addition. We don't have many podcasts recced although there are bunches of them these days. Such a great way to expose people to other fanworks too.

Thanks for letting me know. I've been checking the tag every day but nothing has shown up since day 1. (In fact the things I know are tagged with it don't show up either). I've gone to your account directly and will reblog.

Oh good, I'll look those up too. And yes, I've always found Tumblr's search function haphazard. There have been things I've looked for that I know exist and yet they don't show up. That's why I think submissions work better but they're definitely more work for people.

Oh good, I've reblogged! And yes, definitely next year we should try messaging with a link instead because Tumblr is definitely not helping us out.

I agree, The Sunnydale Fanfic Club is a great addition to fandom - I've listened to beer_good and trepkos's episodes, but not the others, so will have to put them on my 'to listen' list.
