5 longer Summer of Giles fics

Here are five longer fics from summer_of_giles I really enjoyed.

Second Sight by il_mio_capitano finds our intrepid Watcher thrown back to his 21 year old self, two months before Eyhgon. This isn’t about the Eyhgon incident, but it is about choices. I really liked the portrayal of Giles’ father in this fic, and his grandmother is wonderful - just remember to comb your hair and wash behind your ears before you meet her.


Lesson the First by aadler is beautifully realised. Giles tries to explain the duality of his life to Olivia by revealing a part of his memory that cuts deep into his upbring and the things that shaped him into the Watcher he has become.

Rupert Giles Performance Appraisal, July 31, 1997 by punch_kicker15 is brilliant and wonderfully presented. Anyone who has either given or received a performance appraisal will enjoy.

And I’ll finish with two great Giles/Anya fics by usedtobeljs

In Get Happy Giles and Anya go to a conference in LA and run into The Host.. It’s a memorable meeting for all three of them.

Additionally, the gilescandy vid was indeed ingenious and fun. It was educational to see just how much of an entirely different impression can be given by the artistic rearrangement of canonical scenes.
