Five Non-Spuffy Fics I Like

1. The Crow: Vengence by MissWitch
Rated: Mature, Buffy/Giles, Buffy gets taken out by the Initiative in dramatic fashion, and then she returns to extract vengeance. Scratches my itch to watch the Initiative burn.

2. Escape Me Never by Gabrielle
Rated: Explicit, Angel/Willow, Angelus/Willow, I totally have an Angelus/Willow kink. This feeds it. Please feed me more if you have it.

3. Alas, Poor William. I Knew Him Well. by Ruuger
Rated: Teen, Spike/Drusilla. This is crack, but lovely, yummy, delicious crack. There are not enough fics with sentient melons and squash in my opinion ;-) This fic also needs a sequel where the watermelon shows up in Sunnydale, Buffy adopts it, and it humps her leg.

4. Close Enough by ilovehowyouletmefall
Rated: Explicit, Giles/Jenny. S2...in the school! So naughty!

5. First Love Never Fades by sandy_s
Rated: Teen, Buffy/Angel. This story is pretty much the opposite of what I look for in fic, but Sandy is wonderful and even *I* end up not minding the Bangel so much.

I'm confused now, though. I thought the Angelus/Willow story sounded quite dark, from the summary (and I think that wouldn't be your thing). Is it not?

I don't have a problem with angst or dark-fic in general, but I have such big giant FEELZ about Spuffy (*pokes at 1m words written in 2 years*) that are completely involuntary and make me feel like oceans will boil and all creation drown in roiling swaths of lava if their not together...I don't like to read a lot (or any) Spuffy angst. Especially if it's on the gratuitous side. I certainly don't want to write much. (I do have some really terrible things I poke at on my hard drive, I call them skeleton fics, and hopefully I'll never feel compelled to yank them out of the closet. No one needs to read them. Even me.)

With other pairings, I don't get that MUST feeling. I might *like* say, Wes and Fred together, but if in the middle of a story they wander of and start boinking other people, I'm not going to rage quit. So I don't mind Angel(us)/Willow fics getting pretty dark.

And Angel(us)/Willow really does it for me. They could really understand each other, with Willow having that black-as-sin dark streak a mile wide hidden under all that innocence. Actually, I'd really like to have Angelus drilling down through Willow's mind and accidentally unleash her dark side. That has to have been done. Any recs?

And I love in Willow centric fics when Buffy's an airhead and Spike's a complete dolt and the author shoves them together to get them out of the way of the main characters in the fic so Buffy and Spike wander off and be idiots together, killing things in a cemetery ;-)

Sounds awesome, but I'm not the right person to ask for Willow recs. Someone like dragonydreams or velvetwhip, or, possibly, snogged might know. Or even the people who run this comm. ;)

Last year the did requests and part of me was hoping for that, though I'm not complaining! (I love this site), mostly because Leah and I (swifthorse on EF) were looking for Spike/Dru/Buffy stories and were really surprised that we were coming up empty-handed. This has to be a thing somewhere outside of Spike's head ;-)
