5-and-a-Half Skirts Worn by Spike

It's been a bountiful year. :)

1. Illustration for Zabjade’s fanfic “Thursday’s Child” by bewilde
Rating: R? He's only wearing a kilt and some rope. *g*



I think my favorite thing about this image is how comfortable Spike looks. I adore the fic and its sequels, but most of it wasn't written in 2016, while the illustration is definitely 2016 and very nice. See the cute, symbolic butterfly there in the corner? :)

2. Banner 16 for Elysian Fields Artistic Anniversary Challenge by RESPICE FINEM
Rating: R? That kilt might slip off any second...



It's so strange, wondrous, and imagination-stimulating in every way. :) The banner was claimed by eurydice72 for her awesome WIP Razing the Veil, which lusciousxander already recced with good reason. The kilt has yet to make an appearance in the fic (I look forward to it).

On to purely verbal skirts (in Spuffy fic).

3. The kilt in Chapter 5 of Attainathon by Sigyn (note: currently still Elysian Fields member-locked, but ought to be available under TheSigyn on AO3 after it's complete)
A sweet, fluffy, NC-17 delight in the string of sweet, fluffy, NC-17 delights that is this fic.

4. Leather miniskirt for gladiatoring in Strange Land by zabjade
I think Spike kicking butt in a short skirt is a very nice idea. It's also the least of what goes on in this fic in terms of gender role exploration/subversion.

5. A plaid schoolgirl skirt in Buffy Noir by zabjade
Part of his customary outfit as Buffy's smoking hot secretary. Again, the skirt is just the tip of the iceberg. The fic is a WIP with only one chapter so far, but what a chapter!


5.5 Pretend loincloth in A Certain Amount of Connecting by Sigyn.
Not exactly a skirt, but, unlike "Attainathon", this story can already be accessed by anyone. It's as smutty as the description sounds, but and the depth of characterization is MINDBLOWING. As for role ambiguity, it's all there. (Who teaches, and who learns? Who sees whom as less than human? Who's corrupting whom, or is it redeeming?) There's also a strap-on poetry, mythology, AND history. The only drawback I can think of is some Angel-bashing (though Spike does it for a good cause).

My bad - didn't think of it. So... Sigyn has an AO3 account that I can link to. Attainathon is not there, because it's not finished, but if when she finishes it, it will be there. Would that be halfway okay?

I could always look for more unlocked Spike in skirts and leave Attainathon as a +1 extra.

Oooh wheee! I'd seen Respice Finem's splendid artwork, but I had no idea there were so many more Spikes-in-a-skirt around. Bewilde's Spike looks very appealing too! And I will be checking out the stories. (Actually I've already started on Thursday's Child, even though it's not officially on the list :-)

(And actually most of Zab's 'Child' verse is written in 2016. Thursdsay's Child was finished sometime in spring, if I remember correctly. And I *still* haven't read it...but hopefully this is the nudge I need, too.)
