So, sparrow2000, now you know why I've been reading - and commenting - on your stories lately! For the rest of you, some of the stories are dark - I'm looking at you Memento Mori - but I believe they're all worksafe.

1. We could have quite a lively debate about which of sparrow2000’s stories are the best, but I believe any such list would have to include Magpie. The incredible writing, the detailed descriptions … I don’t know if I can describe what makes sparow2000’s stories so great, but this one has it all.

1. Tales of Christina - ah, Xander’s in love.


2. Querencia - Mmm, I adore this one for its metaphor.


3. Memento Mori - Okay, I just made a squeaky noise of joy when I saw this story was up next. It’s, um, as Gomer Pyle used to say “Surprise, surprise, surprise.”


4. In a Lifetime - as I’d been reading through sparrow2000’s stories on AO3, I’ve been commenting on them. After I’d made this list, sparrow2000 pointed me to this story which isn’t on AO3. It’s so good I had to change this list to include it.

Her Perceptions (http://spanderfiles.com/arvs/sparrow2000/perceptions.html) Spander epic didn't get recommended because 1) not on this list because I knew I'd be putting together a Spander epic list and 2) not on the Spander epic list because I had already rec'cd five of her stories here and figured I should give someone else a shot.

So glad the longer ones in particular are at AO3. Click-download! I think I caught up on more longer Buffyverse stories this past year than the last few years before that because I'd never remember to come back for the longer ones even though I love long stories.

As my eyes - and the rest of me - get older, I definitely prefer to read on AO3.

Oh my goodness, I'm speechless.

Thank you so much hon. This is totally unexpected. I was just really happy to have you reading or in some cases rereading fics and enjoying them, so to get such a lovely rec is just the big cherry on top of an already gorgeous cake.

Oh, and your lovely feedback on In a Lifetime gave me the kick up the backside to finally post it on AO3, so it's now up there if you ever want to revisit it.

You could always do 5 more great sparrow2000 stories. I left out Perceptions 'verse. Since it's Spander I had it on that list but when I was putting together my Spander list I figured I'd already rec'cd so many of sparrow's stories so ...

Also Tools of the Trade is the one I removed to make way for In a Lifetime.
