The Wish List Returns for Classic Recs!

Are thoughts of Halloween creeping up on you? It means Classic Recs is coming too!

Starting at midnight GMT on October 27 (6 PM EST in the U.S. on Oct 26) we’ll be celebrating Halloween through all the time zones until midnight November 1. Five days for you to bring your all-time favorite recs of fics, vids, graphics, anything and everything fandom has produced in all the Whedon fandoms! All time periods before 2016 are eligible for posting and, as always, crossover content is A-OK, so get those lists ready!

The Wishlist

For those of you who have been around a while, you may remember the Top 5 Wishlist. Unfortunately as content has slowed in recent years, wishlist content is more difficult to find for our annual sessions, so this was discontinued.

However, with all time periods and Whedon fandoms open during the Classic Recs session, it should be easier to fulfill someone else's wishes!

Comment below with a line or two about what sorts of recs you’ve been hoping to see posted. If you see requests here that you could make a post about, start putting a Classic Recs list together! The more people who post, the more likely everyone will find what they’re looking for.

Remember, comments below should be your own wishes ONLY. Respond with Classic Recs lists posted to the community once we open.

ooh maybe this year I will finally participate in classic recs?

Wishlist for this year and always? Female-centric ('cause this is a show with a female protagonist and important female characters), Buffy centric, Dawn centric; lists that look at social issues (well covered or not) in the Buffyverse; lists that are not focused on a male love interests or male characters.

Female friendships in the 'verse.


Although I'd be down with some "rarepair" lists (Buffy/Tara, Giles/Anya f.ex.)

Lists that explore the POV of the voiceless victims.

Overlooked characters in the verse (within canon and fandom) - Dru, Jenny, Darla,Joyce, Olivia - hell, Principle Flutie even.)

I would like some fan art recs - for artists on LJ and also on other sites. I would also like some R-rated Spangel recs with a hard edge and some R-rated Spawn recs (all with fewer than five or six chapters). Thank you!

Spangel - but I don't think I missed much there - Spike with Giles, Wesley and/or Xander. Sex is fine - no sex is fine. But I would really like plot, wit, and interesting character interaction...angst is always good

Stories where Dawn is part of the show before her character shows up in the show. For example, Dawn is a character in aftershock (kwritten.livejournal.com/153641.html), a retelling of Helpless.

I would really like to have more Xander/Larry recs. I can't get enough of this pairing. Actually, I'm fine with anything Xander.

Some Joyce recs would be nice. I would like to see a fic written from Joyce's point of view during the early seasons.

Buffy fic: Dawn as the Slayer; Dawn remembering being ancient and powerful as the Key. Just general Dawn is a BAMF. (not sure if crossovers are allowed since they may not be Whedon-verse, but if so, crossovers are welcome... Also, now, I could go for some Dawn in the MCU-verse as a badass or Dawn in the Dollhouse.)
