Favorite Tara stories of 2015

Some of my favorite Tara-centric shortfic of the past year, arranged from shortest to longest.

Same Mistakes by aliceinkinkland (Buffy/Tara, PG-13). Inspired by Whedon quote, where he admitted considering having the Powers That Be grant Buffy a wish at the end of Chosen to bring Tara back.
As you already guessed from the title, it's not a fluffy story, and a lot of painfully accurate parallels are made.


The Sound You Found for Me by punch_kicker15 (past Tara/Willow, G). A few days after the Tabula Rasa spell, Tara unpacks and remembers. Which is more complicated than it used to be.
A heartbreaking exploration of Tara's state of mind - how could she trust any of her memories of Willow now?

Protection Spell by aliceinkinkland (Tara-centric, PG). After breaking up with Willow Tara needs some white magic...
A beautiful character study exploring origins of Tara's quiet strenght. Also, it could be read as a set up for a much happier AU where Tara, Anya and Miss Kitty Fantastico are still alive.

no lies, no apologies by kwritten (Buffy/Tara, G). AU of "Dead Things", where Buffy turns for comfort to Tara instead of Spike.
Painfully insightful exploration of two "good girls", and what being a good girl means to each of them.

Holding up this Fortress by cori_the_bloody (Dawn & Tara, Tara/Willow, PG). In the wake of Buffy's death, Dawn begs Willow and Tara to teach her about magic. Needless to say, it turns out as too much for every one of them.
