Five of my favourite Gen fics of 2015
Dec. 31st, 2015 04:48 pmPeers over the parapet and waves at everone. Wow, where did 2015 go!
I admit to shameless pillaging from my end of year review, but then why reinvent the wheel. There were a lot more than five gen fics that I loved this year, so this is just a cross-section of them.
Last Man Standing by
thea_bromine finds a potential trainee watcher having a chat with the head of the Council. This is lovely, vivid storytelling and well worth a read.
shapinglight’s stories are always worth your time and she proves that again with The Dead Girls of London. Spike stops off on his way back from Africa...
Her Very Own Igor by
velvetwhip is a great piece of should have been canon. Willow is fascinated by the inner workings of Ted and Dawn is curious about Willow’s curiosity.
A Tumult of Kinsfolk by
spuffy_luvr gives a different but very plausible background for Xander and it just makes my heart ache for him.
Last, but not least is The Watcher’s Night Off by
feliciacraft. This is a beautifully, intimate portrait of Giles and the emotions that lie beneath the layers of tweed.
Hmm, I think I'm going to have to do another Gen list, because there were so many more this year...
