As I was waiting for Buffyverse Top 5 to begin this month, these came to mind as in I didn't go looking at my bookmarks.

1. Indri's In the Morning of the Magicians. This is totally my head-canon for how Ripper and Ethan met. It has so many things going for it. Bourgeois Ripper who is put off by his friends' lifestyle. The story Ripper is telling himself keeps changing as he realizes he's not going to make it big as a musician. How Eyghon would not have been invoked without both Ripper and Ethan in the mix, but Ripper denies all blame, putting it all on Ethan. This is what breaks Ethan, taking the blame onto himself and thinking that he doesn't know how to have friends and that's what turns him into the Ethan from BtVS. It's a marvelous tale.

2. Dr. Squidlove's New York. Xander is thirty-seven. Divorced. Two kids. 4000 miles from Sunnydale and his hellmouth childhood. Also, straight. Only someone forgot to tell Giles. In fact … where the hell is Giles?

3. Pillars of Faith makes me wish there were more Buffy webcomics. A vampire, who'd been part of a military operation to take out demons when he'd been human, rescues Faith from jail so he can trade her to the Council for a tome that will tell him how to become human again. When he sees how poorly trained Slayer's are, he decides to train her himself so she'll be valueable enough that the Council will be willing to make the trade. It's a whole nother world in the Buffyverse and it's great.

4. Devo79's Blackout. Xander's dying and needs someone to take care of his daughter. I always cry at the end of this story.

5. Mahaliem's Amnesia!Spike. The title sort of says it all.

And as a bonus Restfield's I Belong To You because I messed up the link when I rec'd it earlier and I don't want people to miss it just because I goofed up. A video love triangle between Angel, Buffy, and Mr. Gordo.

This looks like a great list! I have to make it a point to write things down during the year so I have my list of recs when year-end comes.

You're right about there not being enough webcomics. And a video to boot!

Thanks for posting.

Well, I love 1, 2 and 4, so I'm sure the other recs will appeal to me as well, especially since I have a thing for amnesia!fic.

If Amnesia!Spike isn't our most frequently recced story I'd bet it was in the top 3. Great to see the comic!
