I’m a sucker for stories that say ‘what happens next’ post series, because there are so many possibilities. Here are five ‘what ifs..
.
Half a Sky of Stars by [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat has my all time bullet proof kink – strong, confident Xander who has found his place in the world. Just gorgeous. Oh and this is het.

And there’s more het with [livejournal.com profile] sam_arkand’s A Tall Ship. This time my boy is down Mexico way taking some well earned R&R when Buffy turns up on his doorstep. I love how natural their relationship is in this story and no matter how many times I’ve read it, it always makes me smile.

[livejournal.com profile] velvetwhip’s When It's All Said and Done is a lovely quiet moment between Spike and Xander, who are just two tired fighters in the battle against the dark, who are acknowledging the fact that they are surviving. Apart from the fact that Gabrielle wrote this for me, I love that this is a micro moment that says so much about these characters. This is Gen

Walking Higher by [livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs is stunning. I can’t really say anything else without giving away the plot, other than to say that Xander visits with his friends. It’s written in a very interesting mix of second and third person that works incredibly effectively for the narrative. One to savour. This one is mainly gen with one m/m kiss, which in my book is so brief it doesn't merit being called slash :)

And finally, I don’t normally do RPS (and that’s no disrespect to anyone who’s into it, but it’s just not my thing.) But adhering the adage that the exception proves the rule, I adore A Critique of Pure Reason by Annakovsy. Dominic Monaghan goes for a drink and runs into a one-eyed man. That’s just the start of his world being turned upside down. I can’t say enough about how brilliant this story is.

I hope people enjoy :)

Wow, excellent recs. I particularly liked Half a Sky Full of Start. Xander moving on and choosing his own life. Eeee! ;-)

Totally agree on recs 1,2 & 4. I haven't come across velvetwhip's story so that one's going on my reading list.

I've never seen a lot of RPF/RPS in the Buffyverse in general (certainly not compared to some fandoms) so it's good to see something to bring out that tag for :)

What's the Sitch
