Top 5 Stories with Coffee in the Buffyverse

Okay, so I was reading a coffee story posted in 2015, which will be recommended in the January BtVS Top 5, and it reminded me of Lyl’s In Another Life. After the fall of Sunnydale, Willow is found wandering with amnesia. She settles in LA where she works as a barista and falls for Don Eppes from Numb3rs. The relationship just works so well and it’s adorable watching them fall for each other. Totally worksafe.

Chocovanilla by Wisdom Eagle. Joyce/Olivia. Okay, take that in. Two of Rupert’s exes. Together. Now add coffee and sex. Not worksafe.

Slay Me Softly’s Never Say Never. Buffy and Spike discovering each other after a long time apart. The coffee’s to-go but slow down and enjoy the story. Worksafe.

Gabrielle’s Civilian. Willow’s not old. She’s not blue-haired. She turns a corner in Istanbul, but it’s not Oz. Willow and Riley catching some excellent coffee while they catch up on their lives. Worksafe.

Lucinda’s Coffee & Thoughts. Willow and Angel bond over coffee. Worksafe. This is the first story I thought of when I decided to make this a category. The very helpful Gabrielle found it for me. Thanks!

I knew three of these before I came up with this category. Chocovanilla I came up with through an AO3 search of BtVS and coffee. Never Say Never was recommended to me when I asked for BtVS coffee stories on Find Buffy Recs (http://find-buffy-recs.livejournal.com/profile)

I agree with you 100% that "In Another Life" is a great story. Another BtVS/Numbers xover that I enjoyed was the series "Mathematics and Magic (http://www.tthfanfic.org/Series-1194)" by JessRS. This is a Buffy/Charles Eppes romance and quite good. Although I must confess that it's not coffee based. :-)

On the coffee theme, I was surprised that you didn't include BastardSnow's Coffee series (http://www.tthfanfic.org/Series-83), which crosses with multiple shows. It consists of "Three Coffees and a Destiny to Go", "Cornfields, Coffee and Conciliation", "Cold Coffee and Old Memories", "Boy, That's Good Coffee", "Clandestine Colorado Coffee", "Airport Coffee Shop", "Cousinly Coffee Capers", (my *favourite title!!) "Turn Your Head and Coffee", "Central Park Coffee and "No Coffee...Beer!".
