Five Fantastic SB Fag Ends Ficlets from Drizzylydaze

2014's Edgar Allen Poe titles Halloween Challenge on sb_fag_ends resulted in a huge creative surge on the comm. Some really wonderful ficlets and drabbles were posted, and some didn't (IMO) get nearly as much feedback as they deserved.

No knowledge of Poe's work is required to appreciate them.

Here are five by drizzlydaze, and believe me it was really hard to pick just five.

All rated PG.

Life. Set during the BtVS season 5/6 hiatus. 266 words. For the prompt: Ligeia.



Dying, Dead. Set: pre-series, and during Chosen. 111 words. For the prompt: Fanny.

The Case of the Possibly Friendly Ghost. Set post-Chosen. 430 words. For the prompt: An Enigma.

Cryptic Thinking. Set pre-series and during BtVS season 6. Spike's POV. 250 words. For the prompt: The Cask of Amontillado.

Finally - and a bit of a cheat, I suppose - a short series of related ficlets, the first of which refers back to an earlier work from 2013, Links to that are on the first ficlet I link to. Well worth reading it first. All set post-series.

This Is How It Works. 204 words. For the prompt: A Paean.

The Occupant. 280 words. For the prompt: Lenore.

Deep In Earth. 203 words. For the prompt: Deep In Earth.

Me, By Myself. 260 words. For the prompt: Alone.

I have a couple more posts in the same vein. May not manage to post them today, though.

I agree. I thought it might have one more chapter. Maybe it will one day.

Though it could end the way it currently ends and still work perfectly well.
