Some favorite 'Character Replacement' fics

For some mysterious reason I get a kicks out of AUs, where one character is replaced by another. So there are some of my faves...
Any bad English in summaries is mine and shouldn't be blamed on fic authors.

'Awake' (Buffy, Illyria, PG) by drizzlydaze. What if Illyria got in contact with Buffy on Spike's behalf after ten years apart?

A Backwards Tale of the Fanged Four by sin_of_pride (Angel/Spike, Spike/Drusilla, R). What if Drusilla hadn’t been the mad seer of the fanged four?

What if Drusilla had been chipped by the Initiative instead of Spike? by a_pretty_fire (Buffy, Drusilla, PG-13). As much as I love Spike, but chipped Drusilla as a Scoobie would be no less interesting. (And it's not a crack!fic, if you wonder).

Circuitry (Drusilla, Riley, R) by saira. And another "What if the Initiative had captured Drusilla instead of Spike?" fic, taking a bit different road.

World Without Spike Series by speakr2customrs (Ensemble, PG-13) Ok, it's an absolute classic and everybody had read it already. But how could I leave this gem out of the list?

BTW, if you know other "character replacement" fics, could you, please, mention them in comments? Finding something new (or even re-reading something old) would make me perfectly happy.

No more than any of the other major character deaths in any of these fics, thank you!

Oh, and I noticed you gave a warning on one of the vids for flashing imagery THANK YOU VERY MUCH for that. As someone with epilepsy, I haven't gotten a seizure from a fanvid but there's a first time for everything and it is difficult to watch. Very thoughtful of you.
