I’m a sucker for a good BTVS crossover, so here are five that I come back to again and again.

Out of the Shadows by [livejournal.com profile] twilightofmagic is a gem of a Torchwood crossover and I’d recommend it even if you’ve never watched Torchwood, because it really doesn’t matter. Xander takes a walk to get away from the estrogen-heavy castle in Scotland and runs into someone who looks kind of familiar... I wish all my walks were this productive!

I’ve never watched Xena or Hercules, but it doesn’t matter a bit because When Hellmouths Collide by Kimberly Rector and Martha Wilson sets up the world beautifully. The Scoobies get swallowed by a giant snake and when they get spat out they soon realise they’re not in Kansas anymore. There’s so much to love about this story, but one of my favourite things is Giles’ snarky internal dialogue, it’s just a hoot. There are 37 nice long chapters to this story, so if you’ve got a free, rainy afternoon, I thoroughly recommend it.

If you need something a little quicker, why not try Short Time by [livejournal.com profile] lit_gal. This is a Fast and the Furious crossover, in which Xander is in prison and his cell mate is one Dominic Toretto. This is just hot.

There are quite a few Firefly crossovers out there and this is one of my favourite. If It Doesn’t Remind Me by [livejournal.com profile] _beetle_. Spike doesn’t remember much, Xander remembers everything, adopts Badger and makes mud angels. This is one to wallow in because it’s gorgeous.

Finally, I have a very soft spot for That Summer by Dulcinea. Xander goes on his road trip and his car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. This is an Anita Blake crossover, so given Xander’s luck, it’s inevitable that he runs into Asher who is house-sitting for Jean Claude. I really like the way this story builds really gently and the last chapter always kills me.

There are so many stories I could have put in this post, but I hope this little sample will have something for everyone to enjoy.

Oh, yes, I already had "Short Time" on my to-read list! *nods*
And I'm intrigued by the rest too, can't wait to read! *g*

Big hugs Sparrow. Thank you for mentioning that story. I remember having a massive nostalgia fest writing it. (And whee, I'm going next year. So looking forward to it. ).

Not really. Just going to visit my sis and hang out. Day trips. I just want to smell the air and listen to the sounds, look at the gorgeous countryside.
