[livejournal.com profile] indri is one of the best writers in the fandom. Here are five of her wonderful stories from the last ten years (her most recent stories can be found on LJ, but I've linked to her website)

Foreign Devils. PG-13. Written in 2002, before the character was given a name, this is the story of the Chinese Slayer.

Descent. R. A newly souled Spike spirals down the path of madness with a little help from the First Evil.

Return. PG. Fred goes home, post-NFA.

The incredible, wonderful Halfway There. PG. What happened to Giles in season 7.

Ethan Rayne vs America. PG. Ethan's time with the Initiative.

And once you've read all those (and everything else on [livejournal.com profile] indri's website), make sure you read her Giles/Ethan Novel, In the Morning of the Magicians. Rated mature for sexual situations and drug use.

Agreed. She's a wonderful writer. And I've only read two of these, so I'm looking forward to more.

Having recently rewatched the early seasons, seeing Ethan made me sad. I haven't yet rewatched S4 but I don't think that pairing's been written better than Indri's version.

I just finished reading In the Morning of the Magicians. Wow. That was brilliant.

I adore that it's Rupert's fascination with the ritual at Stonehenge that leads them to actually doing the Eyghon ritual. Not completely Rupert's fault but he's much more of a link in the causal chain than he thinks he is. Amazing! I really, really loved that story. ;-)

Yeah, I couldn't sleep last night so I stayed up and finished it. Totally brilliant.

I absolutely agree that this author can never be read too much. Of course, my personal favorite is Hotel Lavear (http://allaboutspike.com/fic.html?id=290), her Chaos Demon perspective story. Partially because it's possibly the only Chaos Demon story of any depth out there. ;-) "Shagging Harmony Kendall" is another fabulous one, but I already linked it this round. As you say, just everything of hers is worth a go! Thanks for spotlighting this excellent work.

I just had to come back to thank you for reccing In the Morning of the Magicians. This is the best piece of fanfic I've read in a long time -- one of those stories that reminds me of what fanfic can be, and why I love it. Truly extraordinary.

Hope I'm not bugging you by coming back again and harping on this, but the story is just so brilliant and emotional that I can't stop thinking about it. In a way, I really never will, because it became head canon for me as I read it. It really does feel like an iconic BtVS fic -- something that everyone in the fandom should know..
