[identity profile] sueworld2003.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] buffyversetop5
At first I couldn't think of what to post here until I hit on the idea of posting sites that have continually delighted and inspired me during the past year and I feel helped in their own way to keep the Buffy/Angelverse fandom alive.

1)[livejournal.com profile] darker_spike. This community may not be to everyones taste, but to me I think it has helped showcase many excellent fic's and artworks. During 2005 alone it has helped many an artist celebrate their love of all things Spike in a caring 'snark free' environment, and for that alone it needs a medal!

2)Tangled Synthesis. An artwork site.

http://www.vrya.net/ts/index.php

Secondly we have a superb artwork site that goes by the name of Tangled Synthesis.
This site just has the most superb Buffyverse artworks on it imaginable. The artist goes by the name of Vrya and is superbly talented. Browse through here vast collection of artworks that she has created and don't think you will be unimpressed. During 2005 she created many beautiful works and I do urge you to check them out. As well art photoshop art her talents spread to creating dance tracks based on famous Buffy and Angel sound bites. One not to be missed.

3)Cold Dead Seed A fan forum.

http://www.forum.colddeadseed.com/

This may seem like a strange thing to rec, but next to the buffy communities on lj this place has been like a second home to me. It's a slash friendly forum that celebrates all things James Marsters/Spike/Spangel. It has amongst it's ranks some extremely good little writers and artists, as well as having a really friendly relaxed air about it. So If you are a Spike/James fan I highly recommend it.

4)Ugly Business An Digital artwork site

http://www.misplaced.co.uk/uglybusiness/

This is another artwork site that also house's one of THE best digital fan artists in the Buffyverse and who goes by the screen name of Zugma. This is the women who has inspired me when it comes to my own humble offerings. Although she is not a manniper, just looking at her work has taught me so much about how much you can acheive via the medium of Photoshop. Her work is truly outstanding, and she is a Spike fan as well judging by the wonderful artwork she has made about his character over the years. Her piece 'Effulgent' is just excellent. It brings a lump to my throat every time I see it.

All her work has such strong emotion locked up in it. She seems to have the uncanny knack of being able to depict the emotional essence of a scene in all of her works. Something that I find is quite rare in a lot of other photoshop work out there. Truly a mistress of her art. Highly recommended.

5)Yet another buffy site-tunes [livejournal.com profile] minitrog's music

http://www.minitrog.com/vs/minitrogtunes.html

[livejournal.com profile] minitrog is a member of lj who also has a teriffic little site which houses that rare commodity fan made music based on the Buffyverse. In fact apart from Vyra's site, I don't know of any other places that have produced this type of thing. Minitrogs an even rarer bird in that her stuff is laced with humour, and of all things slash! Go and have a listen, they're wonderful.

Well that's my list. I hope it's been of use to some of you.

This list is absolutely allowed and very, very welcome :) It's wonderful to see the things that have inspired you, Sue, given you're such an inspiration to the fandom as a whole.
I hadn't yet heard of #2 and #4 so it's great to be able to investigate those...when I have some free time!
Thanks very much for sharing :)

Ditto to my co-mod, absolutely allowed. I'm so glad you mentioned vrya's site too. I really enjoyed her music mixes and don't know of anyone else who's doing them (except for one during SoS which I was really delighted to see). I was actually hoping it might pop up as someone's category during Top 5's run because I'd love to come across more!

I hadn't heard of #4 before but looks like it will be fun to explore.

Just one thing, the link to the vid database is missing.

Sure thing, it's a great addition! I did know about minitrog's site but I haven't been there in quite a while, and there are probably many people who haven't heard of it either.

I'd never heard of Vrya, Sue, so I'll be very interested to go and have a look at her site. As for Zugma, you're right about her. She's wonderful.
