It seems there's always something new to talk about! Just tonight I noticed that Spike's "Lesson the first" and "here endeth the lesson" from FFL echoed the Master's use of "Here endeth the lesson" in "Never Kill a Boy..." Maybe he wasn't as immune to all that ceremony as he thought ;>

funny...I just pointed that very line out to my g/f the other night when we were watching "never kill a boy..."--I mean, literally stopped the dvd and said, "that's exactly what Spike said to Buffy when he finished his dissertation on slayers in season 5"...was he echoing the Master, channeling him, or something else? who knows? only the Joss-man knows for sure....

Hee! I <3 fandom. No matter what we bring up someone else has always been pondering the same thing.

Aside from just a slip of making characters speak alike (which I notice has been done more than once with certain phrases) that's how I was fanwanking it too. He might not have cared for ceremonial prattle but it was kind of fitting that when he was talking about his history he slipped into it.
