Five favourite authors and fics I discovered through judging the Raison D'être Awards in 2005:

1. Ring the Bell Backward (WIP) by [livejournal.com profile] st_salieri: Post-NFA Spuffy. Really well written – good flow, very observant, great character voices. A fic that’s hard to stop reading. Sequel to The Use of Memory.

2. Canis Familiar by [livejournal.com profile] sockmonkeyhere: Post-NFA Spred, the return of Oz, and fantastic OCs. A sequel to Re-entry, which tells you how Fred came back.

3. Legions of True Hearts by [livejournal.com profile] eurydice72: Beautifully written Spuffy - well, sort of Spuffy. You'll see. A Stone’s Throw From Yesterday (which I did not read for the RDAs, but just finished) is also excellent.

4. Dirty Back Road by [livejournal.com profile] thedeadlyhook: BtVS S6 Spuffy. Adventure, comedy, smut – this fic has it all. A fun read.

5. The Prague Series by Fayjay: Pre-Sunnydale Spike and Dru in Prague. Vicious, delicious, and Gwendolyn Post! Very well written.

I discovered alot of great new-to-me authors through the RDAs - these are just a few of my faves. You can find your own favourites here: [livejournal.com profile] rda_awards.

I've only read the first one so it looks like I have lots to dig into here!

And nice to know about how the awards brought you to these too.

Thanks very much for these. I'm following #1 and #4 but hadn't yet found time/heard of the others. #5 looks delicious.
I also didn't know about the community ::is rather slow:: so thanks very much for that. Very good to know.

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful compliment, desoto! Thank you! I feel honored to be on your list!

The award sites are a great place to find new stories and writers to enjoy, aren't they? I think they've doubled my download library!
