Top 5 Spuffy fics Seasons 1-5 and 7 and beyond...

Okay, I am new to the fandom in 2005, so I cannot guarantee that all of these were written in 2005, but I never knew of their existence before then. Also, there are no Season 6 fics on this list, because I had 5 of those on their own, and will include them in a separate post. All of these fics are archived at the Bloodshedverse.

Why I Chose This: This was the very first fanfic I ever read and it got me hooked. It's fairly dark with the torture, but the plot flows smoothly and I just adore it!

Summary: Halloween. Buffy and the gang "turn into" their halloween costumes. But, before Giles can break the spell, Ethan does something that has a profound affect on Buffy. And, Spike is along for the ride.
Why I Chose This: This is a time travel fic, and I just can't stop reading it. I think I have re-read about a dozen times and it isn't even completed yet!

Summary: Buffy, Spike and Drusilla got sucked into Hell through Acathla with Angel in Becoming II. During Season 3 they have managed to fight their way back through the fiery depths to the mouth of Hell to find themselves in Season 4 facing a more efficient Slayer and a ruthless family of vampires that seem to have taken their places.
Why I Chose This: I have never seen a plot quite like this one before. I tend to like stories with Buffy, Spike, Angel, and Dru being together, but this scenario is more believable than most that try to stay in canon with the characters and their pasts. An excellent read.

Summary: Wolfram and Hart, host of the greatest evil acknowledged on Earth, attempts to restructure the Order of Aurelius, one vampire at a time. A soul hampers one, a chip harbors another, and a Slayer stands between them. The pawns are in place; it is simply a matter of who will move first.
Why I Chose This: Fairly dark crossover with a non-canon AtS. I have a soft spot for fics with Angelus in them, and this one kept me on the edge of my seat. It also contains a couple of AMAZING original characters.

Summary: Post Chosen. Fed up with their lies and deceitful ways, Buffy has broken off from both her friends and the Council, but she doesn't know that they are still meddling in her life. She doesn't know they set up a Council member to pose as "Buffy" in Rome, nor does she know that Spike is back. She's living a quiet life mourning her lost Champion when the Powers-that-be decide her that her duty is not done.
Why I Chose This: It's FUNNY! Very little angst, and showcases Buffy and Dawn in a light I wish we had seen them in the series. Some extremely hilarious twists and turns, including some surprising character appearances.

It's nice to see a fully Spike/Buffy list going up. I think this is the first one. And I've read none. Goodness! Where have I been?
Thanks for such full and complete descriptions and ratings. Perhaps with a bit of hunting you could check around LJ if these were written in 2005? It would be appreciated as we're just trying to keep readers in tune with active writers in the fandom. Thanks very much.

SO SORRY! Fixed the Lj-cut in this one and the next entry. I did search as much as I could and I think that these were all written in 2005. If anyone knows of one or more that weren't, let me know and I will edit the entry to add a different fic. I had such a hard time narrowing these down that I could definitely add different ones ;)

Seems to me that Harbingers of Beatrice is older than that. But I know Mastery, Hellbent and Lost in Time are from this year. Good list.
