[identity profile] semby.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] buffyversetop5
My last post for gen fics includes those that don't fall into the categories of my two previous categories - mainly just characters hanging out and talking.

Title: Open For Business
Author: [livejournal.com profile] flurblewig
Rating: PG-13
Summary/Sample: Post-NFA. Faith, Connor and a little bit of Nina. It's about fighting and starting over. A houseful of Slayers - and the last time Faith had checked, that gig was supposed to come with a handy prophetic dream function - and the first clue they had that an honest-to-God apocalypse was going down in their old stomping ground was when they saw it on the fucking television. That was some seriously fucked-up shit, right there.

Title: The Dealing Thing.
Author: [livejournal.com profile] calove
Rating: PG-13 for language, maybe?
Summary/Sample: Spike is in charge of escorting Dawn to a party between Btvs S5 and S6. Who doesn't love Spike-Dawn friendship?

Title: Of Awkwardness
Author: [livejournal.com profile] mosca
Rating: PG
Summary/Sample: Giles and Anya hang out. Great characterization of both. Every so often, something in her manner would remind him that she was older than he, so much older that he could not conceive of it, and that his conception of twenty years as a lifetime ago only served to reveal the mereness of his mortality.

Title: Smoke and Memories
Author: [livejournal.com profile] willowgreen
Rating: PG for language and drug references
Summary/Sample: During "Dirty Girls", Spike and Faith go to 7-Eleven while Giles and Dawn smoke up in a tent. I found it a really feel-good sort of fic.

Title: Indulge Me
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lillianmorgan
Rating: PG for scariness!
Summary/Sample: Halloweeny fun with Spike and Dawn. “What would you do if you were a ghost, Spike?”

Awesome! There always seems to me to be a serious dearth of gen fic, so I'm looking forward to your recs a lot.

And thanks for reccing me on your previous post! Twice!

Aww sweetie, thank you! :)
And I just adored [livejournal.com profile] calove's story. It had been hanging around some of my lists and I was trying to figure out where to move it in. Thanks for reccing it! :)
That friendship ficathon certainly looked like a brilliant idea if it produced great fic like these.
And thanks so much for rating and linking - it's really helpful :)

Thanks for these. As lots of folk have said, gen. fics are difficult to find. I'm adding this to my memories so that I can revisit. I know two of the five so am looking forward to reading authors who are new to me.

Glad to see [livejournal.com profile] lillianmorgan's fiction pimped here and in the previous post because she really does a brilliant and very true to what we saw on screen Spike. Both of the stories are great examples of her quality work.

Oh these sound so good and I've only read one of them.

Who doesn't love Spike-Dawn friendship?
Very true -- this pair of characters can run from funny to poignant but they're often a great combination.

Gosh! Thanks for the rec! I do love Spike and Dawn frendship - so much potential ruined in the show. Very, very glad you liked this one :)

Loved [livejournal.com profile] lillianmorgan's too. Looking forward to the other three.
