Top Five Spander fics in 2011!

1) If You Are Squeamish by justwolf: Rich text with so much depth. This gave me a new prospective to Spike's state of mind, opened my eyes to his age and experiences. It's a wonderful read that you will not regret.


2) Seeing Is His Superpower by shadowscast: This is a post-Chosen AU in which Xander finds Spike's amulet in the wreckage of Sunnydale. When he picks it up, something interesting happens. What can I say? With this writer, always expect the awesome.

3) The Best of Friends by slaymesoftly: It's the sequel for Not Ready. I have so much love for fics with complicated relationships. I especially love fics that have Xander in love with Spike but Spike is in love with Buffy. Unrequited love is the best type of story, especially when it's supported by canon. Things get complicated when Buffy comes back in The Best of Friends I just love the complex situation between Buffy and Spike and Xander, the jealousy, the anger, the desire. Really, folks, I promise you a fun read. Spander and Spuffy fans, you'll have a blast reading this story.

4) Fork in the Road by sparrow2000: I just discovered the joy that is Sparrow fic. She's a wonderful writer with lovely prose, great attention to detail, beautiful imagery and just a perfect Xander voice. Expect unexpected twists and surprising turns when reading this one.

5) The Five Times The Others Didn't Find Out About Spike And Xander, And The One (Spectacular) Time They Did by misse: Five times fics are a favorite of mine and this one was so fun to read. My favorite part was the Dawn section, her wistful thoughts about shirtless Spike and Xander were adorable.
