In no particular order:

Mechanics of the Act by [livejournal.com profile] nomelon, Spike/Illyria, NC17. Illyria is curious about her new form and enlists Spike to...well, no one instructs the God-King, but Spike does his best.

Seraph by [livejournal.com profile] snickfic. Posted in 2009 but with follow-up ficlets written in 2010. Spike and Dawn, PG-13, mpreg - one of the best fics I've ever read, which is not something I ever thought I'd say about an mpreg fic, but the writing is so good, the mechanics of the story so well set up, the characterisation so spot-on, that you easily forget that the inherent premise is insane.

Half-Way There by [livejournal.com profile] indri. Giles-centric, PG-13. Anything new by [livejournal.com profile] indri is always a treat, and this re-telling of season 7 through Giles's eyes, as he travels the world trying to save the lives of Potential Slayers, doesn't disappoint. In season 7, Buffy fought a war against the First Evil. This is a war story.

In the Morning of the Magicians by [livejournal.com profile] indri. Pre-series, Giles/Ethan, R. In [livejournal.com profile] indri's own words, 'the electric Kool-Aid funky Satan groove year, in the early seventies'. Terrific sense of time and place. This is a WIP, but the first draft of the story is complete.

The Gay Agenda by [livejournal.com profile] rebcake. PG, Fluffy, slash curtain fic, featuring that most romantic of pairings, D'Hoffryn/Skip (no, honest). Very, very funny.

The last one is hysterical and nice to see [livejournal.com profile] indri mentioned. Thanks for posting.

Btw, there's something funky going on with the first one, the link keeps coming back to this post.

What better praise could a writer ask for? Even if she did shriek with laugher upon first reading...

Thank you. :)

Er, I actually finished posting Seraph in 2009. But I did write follow-up bits in 2010.

I haven't read the other four but I second rebcake's Gay Agenda!

Our lists are going to look very similar but if that gets one more person to read them, all the better :)

Hee! Thanks for the rec! I'm fond of the sweet demon lovers, myself.

I haven't started "Magicians" yet, although I know it's going to be wonderful. The other three of these are old friends, though I'd have had trouble finding "Mechanics" again without this link! Thanks so much!
