The top 5 best Buffy episodes : ...
In alphabetical order we have :
1. Becoming Parts 1 & 2. Buffy has to save the world and in order to do that she has to kill the person she loves the most.

2. Dead Things. Buffy fears she has come back wrong and that explains her feelings for Spike.

3. Fool For Love. How Spike became the slayer of Slayers and why he can't bring himself to kill this one.

4. Passion. With great love comes great pain, a lesson Buffy and Giles both learn to their great sorrow.

5. School Hard. The introduction of two new characters who will change the course of the series and ramp up the pain for the Scoobies.

And now for the worst :

1. Go Fish. Mutant fish in the ocean? It's the ocean people, not the town.

2. I Robot, You Jane. The demon lives in the computer, again not the town.

3. Killed By Death. The demon killed Buffy's cousin. WTF? I thought she didn't know anything about vampires, demons, etc. until she was called.

4. The Puppet Show. Des Hotel and Batali haven't got a clue on how to make this suspenseful or interesting.

5. Reptile Boy. The demon makes boys rich, not much of a threat IMO. Besides which Buffy saves the day by finding a loose nail to free herself. Sloppy,sloppy.

I can't hate Go Fish because it's the only memento I have of my unsailed Buffy/Gage ship. And I actually love The Puppet Show. Cordy singing Whitney Houston, introduction of Snyder, Scooby Oedipus. Love it.

Feel free to list your top 5, that's what we're looking for. The introduction of Snyder and Xander in the Speedo are worth watching by the MOW is just lame.

I love "Fool for Love", and "School Hard" both great. The only good think about "Go Fish" is Xander in speedoo's. Good take on the recs. Could do with a second watch of you five fav.

In Killed By Death I think it was only sick kids that could see it? So Buffy would have just thought her cousin was dying painfully from the illness.

I thought Go Fish was funny, I loved Buffy taking them on with the lacrosse stick *g*

Puppet Show also funny.

Reptile Boy and IRYJ have no defense though :p

YAY, I'm glad to see DEAD THINGS on this list. What an under-rated episode that was, IMO. Just brilliant. (also, FOOL FOR LOVE is my all time favorite) I also love INTERVENTION because of the fortelling etc.

I tend to agree wit your least favorites that they were among the duller episodes. And I know a lot of people cite Puppet Show among those but it's actually among my favorites from S1 -- largely because it had so many incredibly funny moments. The ending and the epilogue over the credits alone were hysterical.

Favorites list would be harder to put together!

Go Fish - mmmmm...Xander + Speedo. Wait - there were mutant fish??? I must have been distracted :-) Great choices on both lists. I think my favorite ep ever has to be Conversations With Dead People, though. Followed closely by any ep with Ethan in it :-D

Heee! Another great list :) I'd've have to say that Bad Eggs is probably my least favourite, and Tabula Rasa my most favourite, although School Hard and FFL very, very, close seconds. But yes! picking is hard.
