Title: The Chosen
Author: Jet Wolf
Rating: PG
Summary: This is a very ambitious project which follows the episode format of BtVS and its story begins a few months after the end of the end of the TV show. It's more of a general fic which is a spiritual successor of the early seasons, despite being set after season seven but eventually Willow/Tara becomes its main 'ship.
Why I chose this: Because it has it all - brilliant characterization, long story-arcs, interesting original characters, humour, plot twists, etc. It combines my favourite couple, Willow/Tara, with loads and loads of terrific Scooby friendship scenes, not just between the usual suspects - Buffy, Xander and Willow but between say Kennedy and Dawn. Unfinished as of now but if one really demands closure they can always stop at the end of Season 8.
Title: W/T Season 3 Y'al
Author: JustSkipIt
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Willow's parents send her to boarding school for her senior year. And guess who's there?
Why I chose this: Usually I prefer my dose of Willow/Tara to be have lots of interaction between them and the rest of the important BtVS characters but this season 3 AU story is just too good as far W/T goes to ignore it. I really like how here Tara's family is a loving one, not the bunch of one-dimensional rednecks we saw in their only appearance in the show. The sequel story is also great.
Title: As Time Goes By
Author: AntigoneUnbound
Rating: R
Summary: Willow and Tara get jealous of Buffy and Angel so they get a mystical kid of their own. Except that the jealous part isn't true.
Why I chose this: It combines lots of hilarious dialogue (Anya in particular is superb) with an interesting spin on the mystical child idea and plenty of tragedy and angst. I bet you will probably be hooked by the time little Kyra starts playing with her Slayer doll...or maybe that was just me. :)
Title: See Noir Evil
Author: M McGregor
Rating: R
Summary: They say Xander killed them all. They say Xander’s crazy. Xander says he’s crazy too. It’s only Xander’s imaginary friend who says otherwise.
Why I chose this: It's delightfully surreal. Xander's characterization is top-notch and while for most of the story we aren't sure if Tara is just a figment of his imagination or not, their interaction feels so natural that I get annoyed there so little of it in the show.
Title: Xander's Slayers
Author: Nwhepcat
Rating: R
Summary: As Xander's visions of possible futures spin out of control, the Cleveland Slayers and Scoobies join forces with Angel and Wes to discover what's behind them..
Why I chose this: Well, any author can make me like Faith/Xander must be doing something right. :) Seriously, this is a part of a series, with Xander growing into his role of a Watcher at the centre of events. I recommend the previous two parts of the series too, especially This Little Light. Nwhepcat is truly one of the best writers when it comes to Xander's characterization, IMO.
