buffyversetop5Thanks to Joss, who never bothered to sketch out the dynamics of Vampire society, these intrepid authors have license to let their imaginations run wild and create intricate systems, customs and rules that govern the actions of our favourite vamps!
1. Thralls by neichan (A/X/R/G main pairing & too many other crazy-assed, yet yummy, pairings to name) (WIP)
The initiative thinkls that they can experiment on Angel and his clan. Unfortunately, Maggie & Co. are as short-sighted as ever and they've made Angel into something that they could never imagine. This fic puts almost all of the Buffy and Angel characters into the craziest orgyfic with a whole host of fun original characters. Warnings for AU, SERIOUSLY OOC actions, some character bashing and non-con (though I don't know if I'd actually call it darkfic), but if you can get into the head-space of this richly imagined scenario, you'll want to see it through to the end.
2. Most Favoured by Mithril (S/A main pairing & any combination of all 5 that you can think of) (WIP)
Too bad the order of Aurelius is choosing a new master and they've invited Angel to compete for the crown. If Angel's going to even THINK of competing, things in his household (comprised of Gunn, Wesley, Illyria & Spike) are going to have to change...and how! Warning: this fic is as addictive as heroin or cigarettes, if you start reading it, you'll just end up spamming the author's inbox for more installments. Seriously, don't say I didn't tell you so when you start stalking her for more installments... I'm not sure if she's still posting this fic at this location, but she also posts the fic at yahoo groups Forging_Ghost and SpikeNAngelFic

Drusilla has denounced her claim to Spike and all the other vampire families come a courtin', despite any of Angel's feelings on the matter.
Note: Unfortunately, she hasn't finished organizing her memories or lj tags, so you kind of have to root around to find all the parts of this fic, but they ARE there; she's also posted this fic at the yahoo group Forging_Ghost.
4. The Aftermath by P'al Kwai (A/S)
This is one of the latest stand-alone-ish, post-NFA story in the Bloodlines 'verse, which is still going strong, despite being created years ago. If you truly want to understand all the nuances of the family dynamics though, you probably have to read from the beginning, but the rich tapestry and history of the clan Aurelius is so thoroughly engrossing that you won't even notice that you've read hundreds of pages of fiction until you've clicked every link on the page.
5. A tale of Pensive Hearts by Buffywatcher (A/S/Penn)
Well, here is a new take on the relationship between Angel, Spike and Penn and the structure of the Aurelius clan that is thriving, despite Angel's neglect of his vampire responsibilities.

I enjoy working with Penn and Lawson and always thought it was a little... unsatisfying the way they were introduced and then killed in such short amounts of time. They could have been fascinating characters for the show to let hang around for a while. Spike was supposed to be killed off early but someone wise decided to change that to let the character go on and look what we got!

I've often thought that that would make really good potential for a fic. Angel ruling a house, similar to the Master yet at the same time trying to wipe out all the nasty vampires ;)

Date: 2005-12-28 07:42 am (UTC)She's not even up to the fighting stuff yet, but the Spike, Gunn, Wesley, Illyria prep-work leading up to the actual meeting is sooo good that I almost want her to drag that part out for as long as possibe... tee hee
As for Angel being a Vampire King and a good guy at the same time, check out #1, it presents all sorts of interesting situations that derive from that premise...
