Five long/epic length Willow/Tara fics

These five stories are some of the finest epic length W/T centric fics I've read. I have all of these printed and bound and they have brought me much joy. I should note that some of these fics deal with the canon events of Seeing Red, but all ultimately end happily.


Title/Link: The Gift of Sorrow

Summary: It would be fair to say that the events in Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Six created a schism in the fan base of this popular show. Not only did it divide all of the existing couples, it killed one of the most recent popular members of the cast, dragged one of the shows most beloved characters to the very depths of her soul, making her someone that people hardly recognized and made fans watch the moral demise of the slayer herself. It was a very hard season to watch, and caused many long term fans turn away from the show. We, like many were unhappy with the progress this season began, and decided to write our own next season, to address some of the issues that we felt needed righting. This story is the result.

Reccers Note: Sadly, this story is unfinished. The duo that is the Rainbow Writers were finally reunited several years ago and have since made a home together, yet struggle with health and real life issues that hinder the creative process. The story does stop at a stable point and is well worth your time. This is arguably my favorite fanfic ever.

Summary: This is actually the sequel to This Look of Love (which you should can read first, it's not the stronger of the two, but it does establish the story better then just starting with PW&P). Set 5+ years into the future, the Maclay-Rosenburg family visits Tara's home after news of her father's death and discovers painful secrets and a little boy in desperate need of their help. Can one family's love overcome a legacy of hate?

I like the idea of that Behind the Scenes series where we get a continuing story that was only hinted about onscreen. It reminds me of a challenge I saw recced here in the past where all the stories dealt with a given episode.

All good fics, but I have to throw in LipKandy's Tempus Fugit S7 (http://www.mysticmuse.net/authors/lipkandy/tempusfugits7.htm). It's my second favorite fic next to Terra Firma, which is a lyrical masterpiece of fanfiction.

Tempus Fugit is a great W/T piece because (like Tera Firma) it also deals with the other characters, specifically Anya, Xander, Buffy, Dawn, and Faith. Truly a great piece, do read it, you'll come back here and comment/thank me later

Somehow I stumbled upon this today, and I saw your comment about Tempus Fugit, and yes, it belongs on this list. I hadn't read it until a few months ago and I was literally blown over. Excellent reading.
