Favourite characters in varied pairings

Fics I loved which I haven't seen recc'ed yet, but oh, for a linking theme... it's mainly Giles in a number of guises, but one Darla-fic sneaked in. My favourite characters being written well, in relationships of varying states of happiness and snark: a joy.

wesleysgirl, Life is What Happens When You're Making Other Plans, very, very sweet human AU, Giles/Wesley in their cautious, repressed selves. Not a vampire in sight, but a great deal of bookbinding talk, which is utterly in character.


quinara, An Exercise in Futility, Giles/Olivia, playing with Gosford Park as a background, and plenty of Wesleytoo. Plotty as hell, as it should be, being essentially the founding fic of plot_wout_porn (which is running a second season: signups are here. All plotters welcome!).

drsquidlove, And Yet, Giles/Xander NC17. Dark and porny and not like anything else in this list. But a thing of beauty in its own right.

jen_nsync_landl, Blood and Biscuits, Spike and Giles develop their beautiful friendship, in season four sniping to make your heart sing. Surely someone else has recc'd this already?

rebcake, Gamesmanship, Darla returns to the Master. Sinister and insidious stuff, which makes you glad you're not a centuries-old vampire.

Eep. That's a filing error - it's in my memories as Wesley/Olivia for some reason and I've just transferred the mistake here. I have fixed it, though that is no reason for you not to write random Wesley/Olivia, which might indeed be very interesting.

I am pimping as much as possible - though I confess I didn't expect it to lead to your plotty epiphany. I can be a muse too (albeit in quite a linky way)!
