Epic - not all epic in length, but in scope they certainly are, these are fics with ambition, stuffed with plot and thinky thoughts.

[livejournal.com profile] wesleysgirl, All the Sky You Need (Angel/Spike, NC17): Spangel in the Fireflyverse, fulfilling everything you might think that might be.

[livejournal.com profile] shapinglight, The Worst Journey in the World, which took the prompt of a frozen sea and spun beautiful Spuffy and outstanding post-NFA Wesley from it. Without shrimp.

[livejournal.com profile] dipenates, A Watcher Scoffs At Gravity, which isn't long but feels like part of a much bigger story post-Bargaining, that doesn't quite need telling because this puts so much of what might be into the reader's mind

[livejournal.com profile] thisficklemob, Riddled; painful injury to Spike and its aftermath, full of horror but not gratuitously so.

[livejournal.com profile] snickfic, Seraph: mpreg with grace, sense and not a sniff of romance. Just Spike, dealing, and learning to cope, and some beautiful interaction with Buffy and Dawn.

PS And I would have had [livejournal.com profile] shadowscast, Longest Day Ever here if another hadn't just recced it. It fits this category perfectly.

My God, I'm going to have to read that first one soon! And I loved the second, too.

I just have to say, "mpreg with grace and sense" might be my favorite thing anyone's said about Seraph. Like, if it were a novel, that's the blurb I'd want on the cover. Because grace and sense are two very important qualities to me, but they aren't generally considered to go with mpreg, and if I managed to combine the three then that makes me very happy indeed.

Then again, I think I just like your blurbs in general - you do a really good job of selling them. Your description of Worst Journey in the World makes me giggle. "Without shrimp." I think that fic may be the best use I've seen of that silly, apparently throwaway line.

Glad to see you pimping 'Worst Journey'. I think [livejournal.com profile] shapinglight is an amazing writer, and 'worst' is simply one of her best.

"A Watcher Scoffs at Gravity" is brilliant. I wouldn't have read it without this recommendation, so I have to thank you for pointing me in its direction.

Wow, thank you for the rec! I never thought of "Riddled" as epic, but if epic=roadtrip... ;) Thanks!
