Five things that made me laugh in the past year. I don't have time for long explanations, but all of the following are well worth your while!


Brilliant crossover fic: Seven Years (AU BtVS)/West Wing by spikewriter. ETA: The 'Seven Years' verse goes AU post S6. Buffy and Spike get together and then have a nasty breakup. Following this Spike becomes a Watcher.

Fic: How Harmony Met Spiky by bookishwench.

Savage Beauty by speakr2customrs. All human AU with a difference! Summary: “Buffy is the Prime Minister of Iceland. Spike is a Jivaro head-hunter in the Brazilian rain-forest. Can they get together?"

Those were all fantastic examples - I've read & enjoyed bookishwench's fic, stoney321 amuses me daily and crackers4jenn's icons are always fab. Have to check out the rest! Thanks for the list. *g*

I did look at the others and snagged a few of them but, having got so upset recently about that horrible anti-Spuffy icon that caused the big wank, I didn't feel I could use some of the B/A sending up ones unless someone provokes me mightily (in which case it'd be the cyber equivalent of sticking your tongue out at someone).

Must admit, though, these sending up/anti-B/A ones came across to me as done with affection and a bit of eye-rolling rather than the outright hatred that seemed to spur on the maker of the anti-Spuffy one, but a B/A fan might not feel the same, I guess.

I know how you feel, but I'm just hoping that any B/A shippers I encounter will have a sense of humour. Not that I meet many, mind you, since my flist is made up of Spuffy-lovers with the odd slash-fan thrown in. And I have no qualms about using this one, since it's a pairing I actually write! *g*

Oh - and c4j is a very sweet young lady who likes to look at the funny side of things. Mock is pretty much her default setting.

I loved that icon the moment I saw it. It reminds me of that scene in S3 when Angel is on his knees hugging Buffy and he comes up almost to her shoulder! LOL! Need to check out the other icons.

Loved the Smashed scene too and will have to check out the fics. The essay by kantayra is really running rather close to our second guideline though, (2) The lists posted should be made in a positive spirit (i.e. no Top Badfic lists). Could you change that to a different selection?
