Top 5 BtVS saddest moments : ...

1. The scene in the Hellmouth/Sunnydale collapses. This is the end my friend, the door has closed.
2. Buffy stabs Angel and sends him to hell (Becoming Part 2). Her life will never ever be the same again.
3. Buffy finds Joyce on the couch (The Body). Buffy can't save her, magic can't bring her back.
4. The "I don't want to die" speech in Prophecy Girl. She's only 16 and barely began to discover both the joys and pleasures of adulthood. No job, no marriage, no children, no car, no nothing.
5. The jump in The Gift. She saves the world by sacrificing her own.

Absolutely agree with you on those ::sniffle::
I'd also add Tara's death which was just terribly...sad. In fact, all deaths were pretty traumatic weren't they? Jenny Calendar, Buffy, Tara...

There are some really painful moments in some of these scences:

Chosen: Xander asks Andrew how Anya died, and Andrew tells the only meaningful lies he's ever told.

Becoming, Part 2: Buffy leaves Sunnydale to Sarah McLaughlin's 'Full of Grace:' I know I could love you much better than this...

The Body: That moment of horrible realization when Buffy asks "Mommy?" seals it for me.

The Gift: The reaction scene when the Scoobies/Spike/Dawn approach her broken body -- the expressions are so sorrorwful. I can't watch it!

That bit at the end of Forever where Buffy rushes to open the front door and Dawn tears the photo of Joyce in half always tears me up.

I agree with the scenes you picked, not the order though. Having lost a parent myself, the scene were Buffy finds her mother on the couch dead, is the saddest scene of the all. I cry my eyes out every time.

I'm always a sobbing wreck at the end of The Gift. It's a combination of the grief of the others, the music and Buffy's last words to Dawn. Gets me every time. So do your other choices but not quite so much as The Gift.

Oh, God, yes, all so sad. I don't think I would be able to choose the top five saddest moments, but these would all definitely be in my top ten. The pain!

Three was one of the most stunning moments in TV, I think. And totally agree on 4 also. There were a lot of really movings scenes in these series.
