Some authors are long gone from the Buffyverse fandom, but thanks to LJ memories and the Wayback Machine, we can still enjoy their wonderful work.
I would hope that most people reading this will have heard of Anna S, or
eliade, but if not, here are links to some of the hidden gems in her LJ memories, picked more or less at random, because they are all just so good you could choose any of them. They're all m/m slash and don't always have proper titles, and the ratings are mine, not
eliade's.
I Seem to be Weirder Than Usual. Spike/Angel, R.
Spike/Angel was not
eliade's favourite pairing, but needless to say, she wrote it supremely well.
The One in the cave. Spike/Xander, NC17. A funny, plotty, beautifully written excuse to get Spike and Xander to have sex for the first time.
Emerging, Spike/Xander, post series, PG-13-R. No sex in this one, just character stuff, and it's wonderful.
Reprise Spike/Riley, NC17. Spike/Riley was another of
eliade's favourite pairings. Hard to write convincingly, but this is
eliade we're talking about.
Friday Night Avoidance Writing Spike/Wesley, R. A strange little piece which only hints at how the relationship between Wesley and a damaged Spike might have begun and evolved. Beautiful and evocative and just a bit uncomfortable. Have to admit, if I had never read this, I might never have appreciated the potential of the Spike/Wesley pairing.
And for those of you who want more, thanks to the wonders of the Wayback Machine,
eliade's website has been archived here. It includes all her long Spike/Xander fics, plus her sadly uncompleted magnum opus Season Noir, which features the whole BtVS cast.
Many thanks to
tiashome for the heads up.
