PG. Completed, ~21,000 words. Post-season 8. Spike's occasional visits to Buffy's place are all about business, aren't they? :) gryfndor_godess focuses on Buffy and Spike's tentative, small steps towards each other; her story is poignant, funny, with outrageous breaks through the fourth wall. ( The story was written a year ago, when fandom tried to guess what happens to Buffy and Spike in season 9; after the last batch of spoilers this story reads as a nostalgic "what-if").

Five Short Fics I Really Enjoyed

Here are five short fics I really enjoyed in 2011. It's by no means an exhaustive list - for a start, I could say go and read everything by bruttimabuoni and readerjane on sb_fag_ends - but I've tried to make it as diverse as possible.

A First Time For Everything, by hello_spikey, Spike/Riley, NC17. This is a follow up to a Spike/Riley fic hello_spikey wrote a while back, called Riley Large and In Charge, which I loved. Lucky me, I got to challenge her to write a sequel.

These post-NFA drabble-ish-length vignettes from Spike's first week as a Shanshu-d human are absolutely beautiful- realistic, romantic, and with an ending that still makes me go adflkajdlfkjaldk.
"First she reminds him that just because it can’t kill him anymore, the sun can still hurt like hell and maybe it’s not such a good idea to fall asleep shirtless on the balcony. Then she peppers every inch of burned skin with kisses and whispers that the sun lit up his hair like a halo."
