Top Five Post-NFA Fics

I've been racking my brains trying to think of a suitable category for my recs and at last I've come up with one. Here are five of the fics set post-NFA that I enjoyed the most in 2006.

Secret Language of the Heart by twilightofmagic, Giles/Spike, Wesley/Giles implied, Spike/Angel implied, rated G.
A beautifully-written story of loss and eventual hope set in England. Giles has a visit from a certain blue-haired former god-king and her travelling companion, Spike.

Funniest Buffyverse stories written in 2006

Middle of season 6. Buffy goes to psychologyst and... Well, imagine normal person's reaction to Buffy's issues.

“Where are you getting financial advice?”
“Well, the girlfriend of one of my friends is really … money-friendly.”
“Did she come up with any good ideas?”
Buffy rolled her eyes. “Well, she suggested I charge money for—uh, for something I do for free.”
The doctor blinked and wrote on her pad "Acquaintance attempting to lure patient into prostitution".

My Top 5 Challenging Graphic Comms

Ok, so we all know about buffy_icons and buffyicons and buffy_graphics right?  Places people go to post their artwork, to share it with the lj community.  They're awesome.

But this year there were a couple of comms created that were more than just a forum for shared work.  ( And they have a special place in my heart because of that... )

In defense of a kite string

We’re the few... the proud... the slightly uncomfortable when reading s7 fic because we know what’s usually coming... the Kennedy-not-haters. The ones who might not be prepared to take to the streets screaming "Willow and Kennedy 4 Eva!", but just don’t see anything inherently wrong with Willow getting a little latin lovin’ or with Buffy occasionally being called on her not-always-wise tactics during s7. Finding people who agree with this isn’t easy, but here are some:
