Spike Vs Santa Claus: the Rematch by shapinglight
One-shot, post-The Harm's Way, PG-13. On the Christmas eve, Spike recognizes real Santa Claus (the one who kills children, according to Anya - and Joss!) under the mask of the Santa impersonator who was invited to W&H Christmas party to entertain employees' kids... There are twists, surprises and a lot of sharp observations re: Angel/Spike dynamics. The plotting is tight, the details are funny, and Spike/Angel banter is spot-on. The Rematch is a sequel to The Night Before Christmas, writer's first story about Spike's face-off with evil Santa in Sunnydale.

Oh, yes - #5 is also centered around inanimate objects.

(I remember back in 2004 people who got tired of shipper wars declared a war between Spike/clipboard shippers and Spike/game console shippers)
