Animated icons I have known and loved

I've had so many comments recently about a particular icon I use, and love, that I thought it a worthy thing to share 5 of my favourite animated icons here. All are related to fanfic writing in some way and one of them is linked to a fic rec: Fic Rating:NC-17, for non-con, M/M, squickiness, darkness.



This is the one that provokes the most comments. I love it to bits, use it when commenting to writers I admire, and use it as my avatar on CDS. It's by behindblue_eyes and it's breaking the made in 2005 rule to post it here but I couldn't help it. It illustrates the Angel/Spike relationship so well.

A wonderful icon by amavel_bel capturing that one time moment, a believable and totally in-character version of which was written so beautifully by calove in her unnamed ficlet - Now that was written this year, so maybe that makes up for date of creation of the first icon?

This one by dasugraphics is just a little reminder that fanfic writers need feeding, just like Spike, or they get cranky.

This one never ceases to cause me to grin - Angel at his dorkiest by claudia6913, again I think it was made pre-2005 but I can't be sure because I re-discovered it only recently. The still of Angel dancing, used in the banner on this community was taken from this scene.


Not Fade Away. It's one of the raisons d'etre of this community. This icon by synful_trixx illustrates that so beautifully I just had to include it.

Thanks Kathy. It was a difficult thing limiting the choice to just 5. That's why I chose animated icons, it made the task a little easier. Plus I got a bonus fic rec in.

It's a wonderful icon, I love the sepia quality, it's what makes it so fitting for calove's ficlet.

And as to her ficlet, that was a good take on it. (Though my own supposition is that it was something rather embarassing for both of them :D They shall speak of it no more!)

I actually have another one of dasugraphics icons coming up in a future list. I adore this one too. And who didn't crack up when they first saw Angel dance? And the last one, I've seen it before but whoa, wonderful message. She's got some great icons.

dasugraphics has made a lot of really great feedbacking related artwork - two banners I've seen: one of William needing feedback and another of Spike from Smashed all blue lit and delicious! I love that last one as well, just wonderful.
