Thanks for this list. I love essays. I'll have to check out the four I missed-and I'd totally forgotten how much I disagreed with the Riley part of #4. Hmmmmmm.

Ha, yes, poor Riley! I did find it interesting though to consider the different ways Riley has been employed in fic since the end of the series and how characters get other lives in fic. I think that what's happened with Dawn has been quite interesting as well, given general reactions to her at the time of the show's run.

That's true and the writer of the essay was correct in that-I've seen a lot of fics that make Riley the bad guy, which he was not in canon. And I've read quite a few slash pairings that I liked-yet I percieved him as being the straightest male on both Btvs and Ats. (I find it nearly impossible to slash Riley myself).

And Dawn! I'm surprised she didn't make that list.
