There are so many wonderful stories that I'm incredibly glad that petzipellepingo has already posted her Top 5 Favorite Spike/Buffy Tales For 2007 thus making my choices less agonizing. I recommend first of all check her entry because all her choices are excellent.



Falling by kallysten

R, Post-HLOD. Receiving and keeping the gem of Amarra makes Angel a tad too happy: he turns into Angelus, kills everybody around Buffy to ensure that his soul won't be shoved back into him and starts sadistic games with the Slayer. He also cruelly punishes Spike for helping Buffy in the Acathla fiasco. To revenge Angelus, Spike - once again - goes to Buffy and proposes an alliance... Kallysten at her best - tight plot, unusual twists and convincing character voices.

Mostly PG with occasional R. After seeing the grim future in Get It Done Buffy asks Willow to send her back in time to prevent the end of the world. Her logic is simple: if she doesn't die in may 2001 The First Evil won't rise. Willow's spell sends Buffy and Spike in the most favorable moment in the timeline - when Spike had a Gem of Amarra on his finger. Looks like everything should be perfect... shouldn't it? Clever, twisted rewrite of season 4-5. Ensemble fic, Buffy/Spike, Willow/Oz, Giles/Joyce.

PG, post-Dead Things. Buffy meets Halfrek in Bronze and says fatal words "I wish it were okay--accepted, normal, whatever--for someone like me to be with someone like Spike". And Hallie grants her wish - VERBATIM. The next day Spike arrives at Buffy's birthday with Faith and they look very happy together...

PR-13. Ten years post-NFA. Buffy and shanshued Spike had spent together 10 years, they have two wonderful children. But during one of their patrols Spike gets bitten and he turns into a vampire again. Afraid for her children, Buffy demands him to go away and never come back... Pretty long (14 chapters) plotty with many unexpected twists. Buffy/Spike, Xander/Faith.

NC-17, takes place in "an amorphous S4 AU where Spike is working with the Scoobs, Buffy lives at home, Oz is still around and Giles still works at the high school library. Also, Anya has yet to return. Which is probably a good thing, considering she'd be really freaked out about now."
Author's notes and summary: This is an authorized sequel to Saber ShadowKitten's "Humping Like Bunnies." She supplied the brilliant title, "A Bunny In The Oven", I went from there. In the previous story, Buffy and Spike were -- oops! -- transformed into rabbits by Willow. Humping naturally ensued. Here's the zany aftermath. Buffy and Spike face the consequences of a 'wild' night together: a bundle of (possibly evil) joy! Much more than a "baby fic", this story is chock full o' freaky sex, fluffy bunnies, horny gods, catty brawls, cranky slayers, and the end of the 'verse as you know it!

I have just printed out Fix You - have read 2 of the others - so, great now have 2 more recs ... you just can't get enough Spuffy, can you?

I wanted to pimp some of the stories outside LJ. With recent changes many writers went away - either to Insane Journal like Kallysten or to their personal sites like Nautibitz (although she also posts her fics on her closed LJ community).
